Babysitting Services in Wilmington and morehead city, NC

Reliable babysitting services in Wilmington, NC, and surrounding areas of Morehead City, were made possible by Nancy's Nannies Inc. We're often asked what’s the difference between nannies and babysitters. Although we use the same screening process for both, the IRS defines nannies as family employees, while babysitters are independent contractors. Whether you wish to hire a nanny or a local babysitter, we can help. Please take a few minutes to learn more about each option.

Babysitters are hired by the hour, for a minimum of 4 hours; the rate will depend on the number of children. Click here to learn more about our babysitting services rates. The sitter will come to your location and remain on the property; they do not transport children in their vehicles. Our sitters will follow any special instructions you provide, and we do attempt to provide the same sitter as often as possible.

Our sitters range in age from college students to grandmothers. We try to match them to your specific needs and requests. After setting up a date and time for your childcare services, we will call you together with your sitter's name and information.

Temporary Nannies

Nanny and children in the kitchen

Temporary Nannies work much the same as full-time Nannies except for a shorter period, usually 30 days. Temporary Nannies give the family stability with the option of renewing as needed. If you don't need help for a full year this is a perfect option for you. All Temporary Nannies are prescreened just like our Babysitters and full time Nannies. This includes a Nanny Application, phone and personal interviews, background and reference checks.

If you are considering this option for your family give us a call to discuss all the details and to schedule. Help in on the way!

Nannies are hired employees of the family and work with an initial 1-year agreement. Your nanny will meet your family's specific needs & is responsible for the child's full care & feeding. Heavy housework is usually not included but may include your child's laundry, keeping their areas straight, and meal preparation.

Nannies may be paid a salary or hourly wage. You will be responsible for the employer's share of her taxes and Social Security. While the job description may vary, nannies expect to work full-time hours and often look for benefits such as health insurance and paid vacation time. Benefits vary with each family.

Home School Assistance in Morehead City, NC

Due to the COVID virus and the changing situation in public schools, families and teachers alike are looking at their options for returning to the school classroom. Nancy's Nannies is here to assist in connecting families with educators through our Nanny Educator plan and home school assistance.

A Nanny Educator (NE) works in the family home (or other suitable location) 20-40 hours per week to facilitate the children's remote learning. She/he would start the day in the morning with a curriculum and grade level of your choice, have the usual breaks for lunch and recreation time, and end the day whenever a parent returns. NE are degreed former teachers proficient in the grade level you need.

They work with a 9-12 month's commitment to the family and follow the local school calendar, thus assuring continuity for the family and NE. A NE can work for one or more families if all families are on the same schedule and/or grade level. The salary, placement fee, and any benefits can be shared among the families. Each family pays all appropriate employer taxes, and the NE is a W-2 family employee. We are happy to refer you to accounting firms to assist you with taxes. As with any Nanny Placement, background checks and references are provided once a job offer is made. There is a 30-day guarantee on the placement. A Placement Agreement is provided to each family with the job details.

Nancy's Nannies has been assisting families in finding quality child care for almost 30 years. We are offering the Nanny Educator plan to facilitate quality education for students, peace of mind for parents, and opportunities for teachers who feel the need to leave the formal classroom.
